Pfizer will seek vaccine approval for children aged 6 months to 5 years

It was reported that the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer will apply to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to vaccinate children aged 6 months to 5 years old with a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine in November.

According to the news of Politico, Frank D'Amelio, finance director of Pzifer company, said in a statement that Pfizer and Biontech companies will apply for FDA approval for the COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 6 months and 5 years in November.

 

Pfizer has previously announced that it will apply for approval to vaccinate children aged 5-11.

 

D'Amelio shared the information that the vaccine approval application for children aged 6 months to 5 years will be processed after the application for the 5-11 age range.

 

Approved by the FDA in August, the Pfizer/Biontech vaccine was the first fully licensed COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in the United States.
